WIC FEST is upon us and we (SoTD) are entering the tournament under the regular bracket this time. As of right now we are still determining which players will be involved in actually playing in the tournament. But we are scheduled to begin the weekend of the 13th of September. As the tournament unfolds I will update this post with our results.

WIC FEST – The Revival brings the war to regions of Europe and America! 3 Random players that completes the event will be awarded EVGA GTX 260 video cards.

NOTE: To be eligible to play your team must be available to play on sundays at 19:00 GMT (3:00 PM Eastern in NA). If this is not possible, please do not sign up for the most valued private held prize tourney in WIC history.

The winner can win a cash Prize (AMOUNT $250 USD FOR 1ST PLACE TEAM, $125 USD FOR 2ND PLACE TEAM) to be split among their team however the clan leader wishs. In adition to the random giveaway of 3 EVGA gtx 260 video cards. THERE WILL ONLY BE 1 1ST PLACE AND 1 2ND PLACE PRIZE FOR THE WHOLE TOURNEY AS ALL 3 CLASS BRACKETS WILL PLAY AGAINST EACH OTHER IN THE FINAL.

Conditions for this tournament to take place is a minimum of 24 teams signed up and playing through the entire tournament. If there is not 24 teams signed up to play, or during the contest the amount of teams drops below 24 the contest will end and all prizes will be voided. More then 24 teams can sign up!

There will be 3, 5v5 matchs each sunday wich both teams will play 1 time on each side of pre determined map. with 3 different maps each sunday and 6 clan war battles in one day. Tie breaker is which ever team wins the fastest if the match is spilt 1-1.

Captains are responsible for providing screen shots and replays if they are needed to determine a tie breaker.

THE RULES ARE SIMPLE. Starting on sunday the 13th of Sept. @ 19:00 GMT (3:00 PM Eastern in NA) there will be 2 brackets for teams to give equal chances to all teams to make the finals.

ANY TEAM WITH NO PRIOR MATCH HISTORY CAN’T PLAY IN ANY BRACKET EXCEPT THE PRO BRACKET!
Teams must have atleast 25 matchs in their clan match history at sign up.

The contest will be played every sunday @ 19:00 GMT (3:00 PM Eastern in NA) from Sep. 13th. to Nov. 1st if you team is late or does not show your team will be disqualified and eliminated from the tournament.

The matchs can not be played on any other day of the week or at any other time.
On november Sunday Nov. 8th there will be a finals playoff of the top 6 teams remaining in the standings for the cash prize.

A private captains chat room will be set up each sunday 1 hour prior to match start time where pairings will be anounced for each round. Your team will know a week in advance what maps they will be playing but they will not know what teams they will face until match time.

Team captains must be present 15 minutes prior to the 1st macth and their team must have 5 memebrs online at check in time of 18:45 GMT (2:45 PM Eastern in NA).

Results Will be kept on a tournament site that I will set up for signups of teams. You do not have to have a set roster to be in this tournament. Any member of your clan can play on any weekend excluding the playoff sunday.
The playoff must have team members from previous matchs, you can not hire a smurf or player that was eliminated from the season or playoffs and no new players will be allowed to play for your team!

How long does it take?

Expect the event to last 3 hours per sunday form the start time.

How does matchmaking work?

One of the goals when designing WIC FEST is to create an environment where teams can get an opportunity to play against teams near their skill level. Most of the tournaments on the current WiC circuit are designed to quickly eliminate weaker teams and/or arrange the pairings so that the “best” teams will meet each other at the finals. This is good for professional events, but not a lot of fun for newer teams dipping their toes into competetive play.

WIC FEST addresses this by using a custom matchmaking algorithm that attempts to match teams against those near their skill level as much as possible. This algorithm is a work in progress and will be tweaked as needed. A couple of generalities though…

- In round one you will typically get matched with a team at/near your skill level
- Winning will lead to matches against stronger opponents (your team can progress to the next level)
- You will not play teams that you played in previous week unless there is no other option in your pool

Of course, odd numbers of teams or over/under representation at a particular skill level can lead to some strange matches. In general, you can expect most of your matches to be fair and fun.

Do you use ESL rules?

No!
The rules that govern WIC FEST are the same rules that govern any clan match you play in the game. The major differences are:

ESL – You have to play each role and only one player can switch
WIC FEST – You can play a max of 2 roles (ie: 2 armor, 2 air, 1 support would be acceptable) and anyone can switch at any time

ESL – If a player drops in the 1st 3 minutes, you have to restart, later on you play a man down
WIC FEST – Keep playing! Dropped players can rejoin clan matches using “Last Game Played”

ESL – You have to report the score
WIC FEST - Results are taken from Massgate match history only!

I am expecting a good showing of teams to particapate in this event, maybe even some teams that have not played in awhile might show up onto the wic clan war scene again at a chance to win a graphics card or cash sent via paypal.

Your team captain will be required to sign up on the WIC FEST clan site 5 days prior to the start of the event. If you have any questions about the event please PM me in game or post here in this thread.

Any teams in the event caught smurfing for another team ie : a player is on 2 rosters and plays for 2 different teams in the event will be eliminated from the event and any chance at any prize.
